Anatolian “grain sack” or rug.
A Classic tribal transport bag or “Ala Chuval” possibly from Maras Pazarcık, opened up to be used as a floor rug, table cover or a wall hanging.
The decorated middle section was originally the front of the bag, while the plain-woven bands comprised the back. Made strictly for domestic use, the best examples of age-old tribal weaving traditions, with particular motifs signifying actual tribal lineage.
